Hi-Rez Studios' multiplayer online battle arena Smite will be ready for closed beta on Xbox One early in 2015, with a release in the first half of the year, according to company co-founder Todd Harris.
Speaking in a promo video for the company's appearance at PAX Australia last weekend, Harris said that the Georgia developer is "working hard" on getting its deity-based game ready for the jump from PC to console.
"At this point we are excited we have a registered player count of over five million and also we're continuing to expand the game," said Harris. "We're working really hard on a console version of Smite. In the beginning of the year we are going to start closed beta for the Xbox One version and we hope to release that in the first half of next year."
In Smite, players take on the characters of heroes based on various mythological gods, doing battle against rivals in set arenas.
