Next Nintendo Direct talks Wii U and 3DS games on Wednesday

Nintendo will host a Nintendo Direct event on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. ET to provide updates on upcoming games for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, the company announced today.

Though Nintendo didn't specify which games it would discuss, the event will be broadcast a bit more than two weeks before Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is released on Nov. 21. Nintendo's E3 2014 lineup, which included games like Code Name: STEAM, Devil's Third, Mario Maker, Mario Party 10, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Star Fox and Yoshi's Woolly World, may offer some clues.

Last week, amid the announcement of a surprise profit and strong Mario Kart 8 sales, Nintendo CEO and President Satoru Iwata explained how the company is poised to have a record-breaking year with its 3DS suite of handhelds. Be sure to check back with Polygon Wednesday afternoon for all the news from the Nintendo Direct.
