How choice and consequence work in Dragon Age: Inquisition

As the world tumbles towards the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition on Nov. 18, those of us who care about such things are happy to grab onto each and all of the inevitable preview trailers released by BioWare.

This one looks at the game's story, in which a group of disparate characters band together to save the world from impending peril and civil war.

BioWare is big on the consequences of player choice, from creating the central character to individual dialog options. I've been playing the first few hours of the game, and there's a definite sense of agency not just in combat but in the wider world of relationships with other party members. Polygon's forthcoming review will talk about these issues in more detail.
