Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is set for release next month on PlayStation 3, and publisher Square Enix has put together a special edition that's packed with games and physical goodies, the company announced today.
The Collector's Edition of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix includes the game discs for that title as well as its predecessor, 2013's Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, in a Steelbook case adorned with artwork from Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura. Together, those two remastered collections include the following games:
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (cutscenes only, in Theater Mode)
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix
- Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (cutscenes only, in Theater Mode)
That only leaves out one non-mobile game from the Kingdom Hearts series: Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, which was released exclusively on Nintendo 3DS in 2012.
The Collector's Edition also includes three special items: a Shadow Heartless plushie that is 9.4 inches tall, a keyblade pin featuring Mickey Mouse and Sora that is 1.68 inches tall, and a 30-page art book with a dust jacket featuring a sketch from Nomura. The pin is also available in the Limited Edition of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, which is a free pre-order upgrade for the stand-alone game.
Square Enix is selling the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix Collector's Edition exclusively through its online store for $99.99. Pre-orders are now available. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, along with its Collector's Edition, will be released Dec. 2 on PS3. You can check out a trailer for the Collector's Edition above, and an image of its contents below.
