Hipster Dice could help Nichteinechteswürfelspiel go mainstream

What do you get for the gamer who has everything? Steve Jackson Games, home to the successful Munchkin card game series as well as the gorgeous re-launch of the Ogre tactical wargame, has a solution for you. You've probably never heard of it.

Hipster Dice is a single-die party game based on the "underground German phenomenon, Nichteinechteswürfelspiel." It's recently been updated with vintage rules, and is available in one of seven unique colors including Deconstructed Melon, Cold Shoulder, Crisp Denim and Aquapunk.

Each artisanal piece comes with a staple-free rulesheet, as well as "a smug sense of self-satisfaction" their website says.

All jokes aside, the game scores fairly low on Board Game Geek, with a 2.67 out of a possible 10 stars. Polygon has placed an order for the limited edition Obscure-colored die, and will update you if this game turns out to be any good at all.
