Adding solid state storage to your gaming PC is a simple way to freshen up your system. Even an entry-level SSD will mean your PC boots faster, games load quicker and everything feels just a bit zippier. The problem is the cost: solid state drives are usually more expensive than standard hard drives, but there are some amazing deals to be had this Cyber Monday.

Our pick is the Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB drive for $109.99 from Amazon. There are faster drives on the market, and there are certainly larger drives, but the value for your dollar on this purchase is nearly impossible to beat. You'll also get a free copy of Far Cry 4 with your purchase, which further sweetens the deal.

You can pick up the 120 GB model for only $65 if you'd like to save a bit more money, but paying $35 more for double the storage is a wise investment. Game downloads aren't getting any smaller.

If you're interested in a product aimed at the higher end, and that comes with a 10 year warranty, consider picking up the SanDisk Extreme PRO 240 GB for $135. It's not quite the value of the Samsung SSD's listed above, but it's worth thinking about if you're willing to pay a bit more for performance and want the piece of mind of a longer warranty.

A good solid state drive is one of the best investments you can make in your gaming PC, and these prices are going to be hard to beat. If you've been looking for an excuse to upgrade, this is it.
