A rare version of Metroid’s Samus Aran — in her recently released amiibo form — was just sold on eBay for a bid of $2,500, well above the toy’s normal retail price of $12.99.

The pricey Samus (pictured below) is rather unique in that she’s purportedly a factory defect, bearing two arm cannons instead of the standard one. While that manufacturing mistake is probably extremely rare, it might be worth double-checking your local amiibo retail display to see if any other defects pop up.
Samus is part of the first wave of amiibo toys that work with Wii U games like Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors. The next batch of Nintendo’s NFC-powered toys hits later this month.
