Guerrilla Games deployed a new update for its PlayStation 4 game Killzone: Shadow Fall today that introduces a new in-game currency called Valor. With Valor, players can convert points from multiplayer games into the virtual currency and buy multiplayer items that could previously be purchased only by spending real money.
Valor, the currency that's also in PlayStation Vita game Killzone Mercenary, lets Shadow Fall players purchase packs of add-ons for the game's multiplayer mode. These mystery packs are filled with either 80-plus customization items — skins for your OWL drone, voice over packs, character skins — or 12 boosts that affect how your character plays in multiplayer.
Those types of add-ons cost between $0.99 and $3.99, making the option to earn and spend in-game currency a welcome addition to the year-old PS4 game.
