A leaked consumer build of Windows 10 includes an Xbox app with access to basic information from the console including achievements, friends lists and activity feeds, The Verge reports.
The leaked build hits a bit more than a month before Microsoft's planned Jan. 21 Windows 10 event on their Redmond Campus. Xbox head Phil Spencer, who recently told his Twitter followers that it was time to start talking about gaming on Windows, will be among the speakers.
The Xbox app sounds like a light version of the smartphone SmartGlass app, with access to achievements, friends lists, activity feeds, and the Store. The app itself notes that it is an early preview:
"We're still working on it, but we couldn't wait to give you a sneak peek," reads a note that pops up on the app. "We update regularly, so keep checking back to see what's changed."
The Windows 10 build 9901 also shows off the operating system's take on the Windows Store, which now places music, movies, television shows, apps and games in a single location. Moving Windows closer to the Xbox's approach to how it sells content.
