Destiny's latest update, released today by developer Bungie, makes gear earned in The Dark Below's new raid more worthwhile and more plentiful, the studio announced on its website.
Many Destiny players complained about the weapons and armor they'd earned in Crota's End, the raid introduced in The Dark Below, because it wasn't as strong as the gear they had previously equipped to reach level 30. Today's hotfix, which brings Destiny up to version 1.1.0.2, addresses that issue: "Both existing and future Raid gear obtained in Crota's End now begins at Level 30 with an upgrade path to reach Level 32," said Bungie.
Until now, it had been impossible to get the raid helmet in Crota's End — that piece of armor had been restricted to hard mode on the raid, which Bungie isn't unlocking until next month. The patch makes it so that the helmet can drop on normal mode, and so that it will be a higher-frequency drop on hard mode.
Today's update also makes it possible for Destiny players to replay "Fist of Crota," the first of the three missions in The Dark Below. And Bungie rolled back the changes it made in the previous patch to Pocket Infinity, an exotic fusion rifle. However, the new update may reintroduce a "previously known issue" that prevents the gun from charging up, according to Bungie.
