Nippon Ichi's tactical role-playing game Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is coming to North America next fall, publisher NIS America confirmed on the PlayStation Blog today. The game will be exclusive to PlayStation 4.

The next major entry in the Disgaea series will feature a completely new cast of characters for “a tale of rebellion and revenge,” NIS America’s Jordan Vincent said. Players will control a young demon named Killia and his army of rebels in an attempt to prevent the evil overlord Void Dark from enslaving the Netherworlds.
Disgaea 5 will pack more characters onto the RPG series’ familiar grid-based battlegrounds than ever before and will feature a new revenge system based on the game’s narrative theme.
The PS4 release of Disgaea 5 was confirmed earlier this year, just before Tokyo Game Show.
Nippon Ichi president Souhei Niikawa recently dismissed reports that the company was in such dire financial straits that if Disgaea 5 didn’t sell 150,000 copies, the developer would close.
