The new version of the first Resident Evil coming to consoles and PC next year will support Sony's cross-buy feature on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, meaning a single purchase of the game will grant access to both versions of the survival horror game.
On Sony's PlayStation Store, the listing for Resident Evil says that pre-ordering the game "entitles you to both the PS4 and PS3 versions." Pre-orders will also include an exclusive PS3 theme.
A Capcom representative confirmed to Polygon that the cross-buy bonus is only available as a pre-order exclusive.
Resident Evil, a high definition remaster of the 2002 GameCube remake, is coming to PS3, PS4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on Jan. 20, 2015. Resident Evil will sport new features like 1080p resolution on PS4 and Xbox One, 5.1 surround sound and your choice of the original 4:3 or a new 16:9 aspect ratio. You'll also be able to toggle between the original "tank" controls and a new analog control scheme.
