The availability of the "Christmas gifts" Grand Theft Auto 5 is handing out in its online mode will be extended because of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live outages over the holiday, Rockstar Games said yesterday.
Grand Theft Auto 5’s goodies extended due to hack attack on PSN and Xbox Live

Due to issues with PSN & XBL connectivity, we're extending the GTA Online Festive Surprise Christmas Day inventory gifts for the time being.
— Rockstar Support (@RockstarSupport) December 26, 2014 The holiday goodies are part of the “Festive Surprise” update that rolled out two weeks ago for Grand Theft Auto Online, the game’s quasi-MMO mode; The update included new permanently available weapons and vehicles, as well as seasonal apparel, masks, loot crate drops, ugly sweaters and snowball fights originally intended to last to Jan. 5.
Xbox Live and PlayStation Network came under a denial-of-service attack on Dec. 25. Service has returned for Xbox Live and is being restored for PSN, but the attacks were designed to prevent those who got games or consoles as gifts from enjoying them on Christmas Day.
