It’s December, which, for people like me, means an annual viewing of National Lampoon’s 1989 classic, Christmas Vacation. There’s nothing like a re-cut trailer to appreciate a great movie, and Rediscover the 80s has just posted a series of eight “trailers” for Christmas Vacation, recut to resemble horror movies.

“Clark” is going for a kind of a The Shining vibe, while, “Christmas Vacation Horror Trailer” has more of a slasher feel. The “Epic Inception Trailer” is probably the funniest.
Christmas Vacation is ostensibly a ridiculous family comedy, but it does pose the headaches of family holidays as a kind of horror.
