How to turn most of Marvel's movies into one massive 12-hour film

The early films from the recent slate of Marvel movies, known to fans and Marvel Studios as Phase One, include an enormous amount of flashbacks and time hopping, almost none of which is in chronological order.

If you're up for the video-editing task, Michael Furth, editor of The Comic Archive, created this how-to video for making your own Marvel Omnibus Phase One, which reorders all of the scenes in the movies.

To create this 12-hour, 10-minute recut, you're going to need a bunch of movies, some television shows and editing software like Final Cut Pro X.

Here's the full list of content that went into creating Furth's Marvel masterpiece:

  • Iron Man 1
  • Iron Man 2
  • Iron Man 3
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  • The Incredible Hulk
  • Thor
  • Thor: The Dark World
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • The Avengers
  • Agent Carter one-shot
  • A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer one-shot
  • The Consultant one-shot
  • Agents of SHIELD Episode 201 - "Shadows"
  • Agents of SHIELD Episode 208 - "The Things We Bury"

The end result will be a movie that stretches from the year 2987 BC to the end of the original Avengers movie. If you're really up for it, you can also make a Phase 2 omnibus which includes Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and a slew of episodes from Agents of SHIELD.
