Team Ninja is bringing the Dead or Alive series to Windows PC with Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, the company confirmed today, but with a surprising caveat: The Steam release won't launch with online play.
On the game's Steam page, publisher Koei Tecmo notes that "Online modes for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round will be added in a patch within 3 months of release." Last Round is scheduled for release on Feb. 17 on both PC and consoles.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round expands upon last year's release of the game, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, by adding two new characters — Raidou from the original Dead or Alive and an unannounced female fighter — bringing the total roster to 34 fighters. Last Round also sees the return of two re-imagined stages: Crimson from Dead or Alive 2 and Danger Zone from Dead or Alive.
The Windows PC version of Last Round costs $39.99 on Steam, but Koei Tecmo is offering a 10 percent discount on pre-purchases. The publisher is also offering a pre-order incentive in the form of costumes that will become available as more Steam users pre-purchase the game. For a look at those costumes, check out the Japanese trailer below.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round is also coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
