Actor Ryan Reynolds is set to star as the titular character in the upcoming Marvel film Deadpool, according to a report from the L.A. Times.
Ryan Reynolds is officially back as Deadpool

Reynolds, best known for his roles in Green Lantern and Blade: Trinity, was rumored to be in the running for the role of the wise-cracking anti-hero, but it was only yesterday that Fox confirmed his official casting. Reynolds first donned the Deadpool mask in X-Men: Origins - Wolverine.
This film adaptation of Marvel’s Deadpool series is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 12, 2016. Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Comics announced the films release date earlier this year, with Tim Miller set to direct.
News of the official Deadpool release date followed test footage of the project leaked online. The video, shot a few years ago, also featured actor Ryan Reynolds in the lead.
