Gears of War developer Black Tusk Studios is making "massive progress" on an unspecified project, according to a tweet from head of Xbox Phil Spencer this week.
In a subsequent response to a question asking, "How good does it look?" Spencer implied that the team is getting more adept with the Xbox One hardware.
"As happens on any [platform, the] longer teams have w/ [hardware] the better they get at using n better the tools get," he wrote.
Head of marketing Aaron Greenberg replied to Spencer to concur with his assessment, writing "agree, super impressed with this team. #DreamTeam."
Spencer teased the next Gears of War game earlier this year when he implied that it would return to some of the elements he liked most about the first games in the series.
In January 2014, Microsoft announced its acquisition of the third-person, cover-based shooter series that began at Epic Games. Vancouver-based Black Tusk, which was working on an original IP since its inception, is now leading development on the unnamed game.
