Author J.K. Rowling plans to release a selection of new Harry Potter stories she's written as an early Christmas present to her fans, official Harry Potter website Pottermore reports.
"Christmas is coming early to Pottermore," according to the Pottermore Facebook post. "Starting Friday, December 12, we'll be releasing a surprise for you every day on pottermore.com at 1pm GMT (8am EST).
"With wonderful new writing by J.K. Rowling in Moments from 'Half-Blood Prince', shiny gold Galleons and even a new potion or two, make sure you don't miss out - just visit pottermore.com and answer our rhyming riddles to unwrap a #Pottermore Christmas surprise every day."
Fansite Snitchseeker reports that fans were given a bit more detail about the daily surprises in an emailed newsletter.
"From Florean Fortescue's ghost plot to J.K. Rowling's thoughts on the sneaky Slytherin Draco Malfoy, there's a wealth of writing to discover," according to the site, which quotes the newsletter.
Other goodies for Pottermore subscribers will include a gift of golden Galleons for use in the site's Apothecary and new concoctions to brew in Potions Class.
This isn't the first time Rowling has dropped new Harry Potter fiction on Pottermore. She wrote up a piece for Halloween on the backstory of Dolores Umbridge.
