Day of the Tentacle Special Edition will join the remastered re-release of Grim Fandango and, in a twist, Broken Age, all launching on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita and 2015 on the same day as their PC, Mac and Linux counterparts.
Developing studio Double Fine Productions made the announcement this afternoon at PlayStation Experience 2014 in Las Vegas.
Studio founder Tim Schafer, the creator behind all three games, said Grim Fandango would launch Jan. 27. Release dates for the other two games were not given. Broken Age most recently said it was targeting an early 2015 release.
Broken Age's second act will complete the game; a first act was released in late winter this year on PC. The Grim Fandango remaster was announced for PC and PlayStation back in October The Day of the Tentacle remaster was something of a surprise; Schafer thanked LucasArts, the game's original publisher, in announced its return.
LucasArts had been rumored to be working on a high-definition version of Day of the Tentacle until new owner Disney put a stop to its development in fall 2013.
