As Destiny's closing credits roll, former Beatle Paul McCartney's "Hope for the Future" plays — a song written just for the game. This week, the song became a music video.
In the video, revealed this morning on Wired, McCartney appears as a hologram projected in various locations in Destiny by players' ubiquitous AI companion, Ghost.
Destiny Composer Marty O'Donnell revealed McCartney's involvement in developer Bungie's first-person shooter in early 2013. "Hope for the Future" will be released as a single this week, something first reported in August 2014. According to Bungie's community manager, Eric Osborne, McCartney joined the video game "for the creativity" and "to reach an audience that wouldn't typically be immersed in Paul McCartney."
Head over to Wired to watch the video now. You'll be able to watch it below at 1 p.m. ET today from Vivo.
