If the Green Ranger has his way, he'll square off against CM Punk — not in a video game, but in real life.
Last week, Punk, a former professional wrestler, revealed that he'd signed a multi-fight contract with the mixed martial arts organization.
"I'm coming into the biggest fighting organization in the world with an 0-0 record and I understand that," Punk said. "I'm sure people are still going to throw that in my face, but that does not bother me. That's the reality of it, and I embrace that reality."
Rather than throw anything in Punk's face, Jason David Frank, perhaps best known for his portrayal of the green Power Ranger, issued a challenge through his Instagram account. The seventh degree black belt and MMA fighter would like to meet the former pro wrestler in a UFC fight.
"I like CM this is just a professional call out," Frank wrote.
Whether the two fighters, who have appeared as their characters in numerous videos games, will meet in the octagon has yet to be determined.
Punk left the WWE earlier this year. In late November, he appeared on Colt Cabana's The Art of Wrestling podcast to tell his side of the story. The episode proved so popular that it crushed the podcast's servers, making it unavailable for days.
Despite his departure, CM Punk appears in the latest pro wrestling video game, WWE 2K15. For more, be sure to read Polygon's review. You can also read Polygon's review of the latest mixed martial arts title, EA Sports UFC.
