Sons of Anarchy will live on with 'The Prospect' on mobile devices

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

Sons of Anarchy, the outlaw motorcycle club soap opera that ends tomorrow night, will continue its ride in early 2015 with Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect, described as "an interactive, episode-based game" for mobile devices.

The announcement said Sons of Anarchy: The Prospect would involve a new location and a previously unknown chapter of the motorcycle club. It promised fans would "experience the treachery, graphic action, intrigue and life-and-death decision-making they have come to anticipate from the show."

Canada-based Orpheus is developing the game along with Silverback Games. Orpheus acquired the rights to make a Sons of Anarchy video game back in 2013.

Previously, series creator Kurt Sutter had said the game would be a "very high-end tablet game."

Sons of Anarchy premiered in 2008 on FX; it chronicles the activities, frequently deadly and violent, of the original chapter of a motorcycle club in fictitious Charming, Calif.
