Syfy is planning a TV series based on Superman’s grandfather. Set on the planet Krypton, the story, penned by Ian Goldberg, will center on Superman’s house of El’s political intrigues.
New Superman TV show from Syfy will be set on Krypton

David S. Goyer, whose previous work includes Man of Steel, is producer of Krypton, alongside DC Comics and Warner Horizon Television.
“Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized,” stated Syfy. “This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest superhero ever known.” No word yet on release date.
