Yoshi's New Island spans exotic, painterly locations

A trailer released today for Yoshi's New Island reveals some of the exotic and painterly locations players will be able to explore.

The game takes place in regions such as an under-water location, a densely rich forest, a tropical island and more. Yoshi will be able to smash his way through the environments by throwing Mega Eggdozers and Metal Eggdozers, while also transforming into a variety of objects, such as a jackhammer or a submarine, both of which can be manipulated using the Nintendo 3DS gyro controls.

Yoshi will also be able to transform into Super Yoshi, which gives him the ability to fly through the sky or run along walls and ceilings.

Yoshi's New Island is the sequels to Nintendo's 1995 title Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and the 2006 title Yoshi's Island.

The game is due to launch in North America for the 3DS on March 14.
