Warlords of Draenor to include spectator invites, skirmishes

The fifth expansion for Blizzard Entertainment's massively multiplayer role-playing game, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, will reintroduce skirmishes and add a spectator option for PvP mode War Game, the developer announced via Battle.net.

Skirmishes, previously available alongside ranked Arena play, will be reintroduced as "unranked" Arena play. During a skirmish, players can queue for 2v2 or 3v3 battles to win Honor and a random bonus of gold, Conquest Points or more.

"We think this will be a great way for players who haven't tried Arenas before to get their feet wet, and will allow experienced players to experiment with alternate specs or builds without worrying about tanking their rating," the post reads.

Warlords of Draenor's spectator system will allow match organizers to invite teams into a PvP "War Game." Those in the organizer's party will be able to watch the entire match unfold. According to the post, this feature will also be opened up to add-on developers for customization. The expansion will also add a Tournament Mode gear, which gives players a special set of gear specifically for War Games to "ensure that all players are on equal footing."

Blizzard announced Warlords of Draenor at BlizzCon 2013 last November. The expansion adds the new world of Draenor, home of the orc and draenei races, as well as PvP toggle options, a level cap of 100, new dungeons and more.
