Square Enix and Eidos Montreal shared a new trailer for Thief today setting the stage for Garrett's tale — his tortured past, shadowy existence and the danger that awaits him in the corrupted, decaying City.
As Master Thief Garrett, players will stalk the city dispensing justice as they see fit from the shadows. Players can mow down the corrupted freely or progress through the game without killing a single soul or attracting enemy attention.
In Thief, players can also turn off the user interface, removing all directional and targeting hints to ramp up the challenge. The title also includes an Iron Man mode, which will end on a Game Over if Garrett dies, necessitating a game restart.
Thief will launch next week on Feb. 25 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This morning, GameStop announced it will hold special midnight launch events the evening of Feb. 24 at 600 of its U.S. locations, during which players can pick up their pre-ordered copy of Thief — along with the GameStop exclusive Thief soundtrack, "Bank Heist" mission DLC and the Thief Android companion app.
