The Kickstarter campaign for La-Mulana 2: The 0th Body the 9th Spirit, Playism Games' sequel to 2D adventure game La-Mulana, recently ended its crowdfunding efforts on a successful note.
The side-scrolling action-adventure game reached its goal of $200,000 last week. At the close of the campaign, it raised more than $266,000 with the help of 5,200 backers and achieved four of its 14 stretch goals. As a result, La-Mulana 2 director Takumi Naramura will take on the "Curry Hell" challenge of eating curry three times a day for three days and the team will have a live curry party on Twitch. The game will include a mode revealing more about its world, as well as an in-game bestiary.
La-Mulana 2 was announced last year. The game stars Lumisa Kosugi — the daughter of the original game's protagonist — as she searches for the ruins of Eg-Lana.
La-Mulana 2 is being developed primarily for Windows PC. Unreached stretch goals would have added Linux and Mac versions, home consoles and handhelds.
