Pirate-centric fantasy series Risen will continue with the release of a new installment to the franchise from developer Piranha Bytes, the studio revealed on the upcoming cover of German magazine PC Games.
Screenshots for Risen 3: Titan Lords have been posted online ahead of the magazine's retail release on Feb. 26, offering a glimpse of the game's graphical evolution.
Risen 3: Titan Lords follows on from the 2012 release Risen 2: Dark Waters. No release date or platforms are confirmed as of yet. The original Risen was first released to Windows PC and Xbox 360, while its sequel would go on to also launch on PlayStation 3.
Risen 2 received a 7 out of 10 from Polygon in a review that states: "Risen 2 always redeems itself with the little things about the pirate fantasy it nails. What other game lets you learn a skill called '‘Nuff Said' that allows you to end the occasional conversation by pulling a pistol on your co-converser and sending them to Davy Jones' Locker? And listen, just between you and me ... you can get an attack parrot and a monkey that steals stuff."
