Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call on Nintendo 3DS will feature a choose-your-own-adventure mode previously only available in the 2012 iOS version of the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, reports 4Gamer.
In the mobile version's Quest Medley mode, the game randomly selects a set of songs from players' music catalog, stringing together "quests" to play through. For Curtain Call, Quest Medley mode will allow players to choose their own routes and build three different lengths of quests: short, medium and long. Players can also share user-created maps with one another.
Curtain Call's one-on-one Versus mode is playable against AI and with local or online opponents. The goal is to get the highest score at the end of a round. The video above shows Versus mode in action, set to music from Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn and Final Fantasy 10-2.
Curtain Call will also include new character avatars, including Rem and Machina from 2011 PlayStation Portable title Final Fantasy Type-0, and new bosses taken from throughout the Final Fantasy franchise, such as Golbez, Zeromus, Braska's Final Aeon and Magitek Armor.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will launch in Japan this spring. This is currently no word on a Western release.
