Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls pre-orders include Heroes of the Storm character unlock

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls pre-order customers will receive two free bonuses — only one of which actually applies to Diablo 3, developer Blizzard Entertainment announced today.

The first item is Wings of Valor, the wings of the Archangel of Valor, which will be provided for all your Diablo 3 characters. The other pre-order bonus unlocks Valla the Demon Hunter in Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's upcoming multiplayer online battle arena title. You can see images of both add-ons below. Diablo 3's Valla will be featured in Heroes of the Storm alongside other Blizzard characters, such as Jim Raynor from StarCraft and the Lich King from World of Warcraft.

Those who pre-order Reaper of Souls digitally will automatically see both items show up in their Battle.net accounts. The Wings of Valor will start appearing for existing Diablo 3 characters, and any new ones you create, as of March 20. Valla will be available only when Heroes of the Storm is released, and pre-ordering Reaper of Souls won't grant you access to the game's alpha or beta tests. If you buy a retail copy of Reaper of Souls, you'll have to redeem the game code on Battle.net within six days of the expansion's March 25 release — to be precise, by 2:59 a.m. ET on April 1.

"If you redeem your game key after that date, your pre-order loot will be consumed by the fires of the Burning Hells and lost forever," reads the announcement post from Blizzard.
