Nosgoth's closed beta starts Feb. 27, classic skins revealed

The closed beta for Nosgoth, developer Psyonix Studios' free-to-play multiplayer fighter set in the Legacy of Kain universe, will enter its closed beta this Thursday, Feb. 27, less than a week after its alpha ended.

Design director Corey Davis revealed the news today in a short video. Press play above to hear the announcement and catch a glimpse of upcoming "classic" vampire skins designed by Daniel Cabuco, art lead for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Crystal Dynamics' 1999 action game for Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and Windows PC.

"It's with great pleasure that I announce my involvement with Psyonix in creating these classic Soul Reaver clan skins," Cabuco wrote on Nosgoth's official blog. "They heard the fans and sought me out to ensure an authentic tie to the original series."

Further details about the skins, as well as some concept art, are coming next week.

In the interim between Nosgoth's alpha and the beginning of its beta, Psyonix will stream the game on Twitch Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 5 p.m. ET. You can also watch a recent developer video for some vampire versus human hunting and an overview of some abilities, classes and skins.

Registration for Nosgoth's testing phase is open on the game's official website.
