Sony is bundling Lego The Hobbit, the upcoming action game based on Peter Jackson's first two Hobbit films, with a 500 GB PlayStation 3 this spring, the company announced today.

The package will be available in North America for $269. Sony has previously priced PS3 bundles containing games and a 500 GB console at upwards of $299, such as the ones for Grand Theft Auto 5 and the God of War series. Recently, Best Buy and GameStop began selling a bundle with a 500 GB unit and The Last of Us for $269.

Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced Lego The Hobbit last fall. The game is set for release this spring on all major gaming platforms; for more, check out our brand-new preview. Jackson's final Hobbit film, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 17, 2014.
