Scanning today's list of games, I feel like we've been here before and we'll be here again.

We have Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a Frankenstein's monster of EA's most popular franchises; then there's Thief, a reboot of the once king of stealth games; and lastly Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a sequel to a reboot, which itself was rereleased last year.

Video games are iterative, so why do I feel like I'm going crazy. Is it me? Is it the games? Is it this copy of The King in Yellow sitting on my desk, haphazardly opened to the first page of the second act? It's probably me.
