QuakeCon 2014 pre-registration begins March 5

The first round of online registration for QuakeCon 2014 will be held on March 5 at 8 p.m. ET, organizers announced today on the Bethesda Blog.

Hopeful attendees can register through the QuakeCon website in four stages throughout March and April. The round of tickets going live on March 5 is for the BYOC Select-a-Seat with QuakeCon done Quick package, which includes a guaranteed seat in the annual Bring Your Own Computer LAN party, as well as Fast Pass express lane access and reserved seating for all panels and presentations. This package costs $175.

The second type of BYOC package will go on sale March 19 at 8 p.m. ET. This $150 package includes a guaranteed seat at the LAN party as well as a hefty amount of limited edition QuakeCon swag. The third $50 package will go on sale on April 2 at 8 p.m. ET and includes a seat at BYOC as well as a QuakeCon shirt and lanyard. The final round of badges will cost $120 and go on sale on April 16 at 8 p.m. ET. These do not include seats at the BYOC but another bag of QuakeCon goodies, included a branded Logitech surround sound gaming headset.

When the BYOC packages sell out, more will be given out via social media contests and through event partners leading up to QuakeCon, according to the post. Seats to the BYOC party will not be available on-site or on a first-come-first-serve basis this year. General attendance for the convention is still free.

QuakeCon 2014 will take place July 17-20 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
