Following the launch of the Playfire Rewards scheme beta, online retailer Green Man Gaming is giving away 80,000 free copies of role-playing game Avencast: Rise of the Mage for a limited time.
The free title can be accessed through the official GMG website by linking your Steam ID to your Playfire account - either pre-existing or one you've just made. Users will receive a digital copy of the game via email within up to 48 hours while stock lasts.
The Playfire Rewards Scheme lets users earn credit toward purchases on the GMG website by playing games for the first time, playing a certain number of hours or earning achievements through Steam. Details on how the beta system will work are available here, including a list of specific achievements and games included in the rewards scheme.
Avencast: Rise of the Mage launched in 2007 from Austrian developer ClockStone Software. The game later came to Steam in 2010. The single-player title focuses largely on beat 'em up styled gameplay, following the story of a student of magic as he prepares to become a legitimate mage.
