YouTube-based games video service Machinima is a target for investment from Warner Bros. according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The WSJ stated that "according to people familiar with the situation" Warner Bros. is "said to be considering" making a $10 million to $15 million investment in Machinima, which creates video content around game culture, like Inside Gaming, as well as selling ads on behalf of independent video-makers.
Machinima has amassed over 10 million YouTube subscribers to its core channel, and millions more to individual channels as well as to popular hosted media brands like Rooster Teeth. According to the WSJ, the company has "struggled to reach profitability." Last year, it underwent a round of layoffs.
Polygon has contacted Machinima for comment.
