Zombie MOBA Dead Island: Epidemic enters closed beta

Dead Island: Epidemic, the zombie-infested multiplayer online battle arena game, is now in closed beta, publisher Deep Silver announced today.

The free-to-play MOBA, in development at Bloodline Champions developer Stunlock Studios, pits three teams of players against each other in a fight for survival against undead hordes. The Dead Island franchise's crafting system will play a key role in the game that the publisher describes as a "PvPvPvE" experience.

Deep Silver has been accepting registrations for Dead Island: Epidemic's beta through the game's website, playdie.net, since last August. Registration is currently open. Players who take part in the game's closed beta will receive "exclusive in-game items and rewards," Deep Silver says, that carry over into the main game.
