Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare - Overview video

New, 9 comments

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is a breath of fresh air.

It's a neat little bundle of surprises, the largest of which being how damn competent it is — a rarity for franchises attempting to jump the genre barrier. It's a (somewhat) budget-priced title, with an economy driven by an in-game store devoid of microtransactions. It's cartoony and, at times, thoroughly hardcore. Also, you can play as an electrically charged cactus. The wonders never cease.

In today's Overview, Justin and I run through the game's competitive and co-op offerings, and also talk about the political ramifications of weaponized arbor. Is it ethical to force our flora into life-threatening combat scenarios, just because we bought them at the Home Depot, and nurtured them from seedlings? Discuss.
