PopCap is working on updates and ports for puzzle game Peggle 2, as well as a new project for consoles, franchise marketing manager Gary Clay told Digital Spy.
The news comes on the heels of the launch of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a classic shooter wrapped in the studio's popular Plants vs. Zombies universe. Peggle 2, which launched for Xbox One in December, is slated to receive updates as well as be ported to other platforms, though what those are is still unannounced.
"PopCap is now structured in the way we have standard PopCap mobile development and then PopCap HD, which is entirely focused on bringing games to PC and console," Clay said.
PopCap HD, a team comprised of veteran PopCap and EA Black Box employees, is busy with new content for Garden Warfare slated to launch for free in March. Clay also said the studio is working on an unannounced new project, which is "not necessarily" part of an existing PopCap franchise.
"We're working on Peggle 2,and we're working on updates for Peggle 2 and looking at bringing that to other platforms in future, and new IP as well," he said. "So expect to see a lot more from PopCap HD coming forward."
Polygon spoke with PopCap about the intricacies of crafting the soundtrack for Peggle 2, down to every peg ping and symphonic finish.
