Former Zynga devs behind CastleVille form Boss Fight Entertainment

Former Zynga Dallas studio members, known best for their work on the casual social game CastleVille, are forming a new team called Boss Fight Entertainment, Venture Beat reports.

The group previously worked as part of the Dallas, Texas based Bonfire Studios prior to it being bought by Zynga. Studio founders include former CastleVille lead designer Bill Jackson, former Zynga Dallas studio head David Rippy and former Zynga divisional COO Scott Winsett.

Formed in mid-2013, the self-funded Boss Fight is well into the development of its first release, said Jackson, while a second title will begin development in the coming months.

"Boss Fight's next game will combine everything we know about free-to-play and mobile with the high production quality of our biggest franchise titles," he said. "We're already working on an original IP that we'll start talking about in the coming months."

Zynga Dallas was shut down last year after its parent company experienced difficulties transitioning into mobile gaming and began losing money in 2012.
