World of Warplanes update aims to make it 'exciting to watch'

New, 3 comments

The second major update for World of Warplanes, Wargaming.net's massively multiplayer online game, will include new camera effects and stat tracking as the developer sets its sights set on eSports.

In update 1.2, Wargaming.net will add "enhanced" camera effects to "facilitate online streaming" as well as the ability to create replays, which the developer hopes will help players learn combat tactics. The update will also introduce detailed stats after battle and a new Battle Missions System, which will challenge players to complete objectives and compete in events to earn credits.

"The upcoming update will heighten gameplay experience, injecting it with depth and comfort," said Vlad Belozerov, director of global operations. "Our goal is to grow World of Warplanes into a game that is exciting to watch via live steams and gratifying to play, be it on casual or pro level."

Wargaming.net has not announced a release date for update 1.2. In the meantime, you can check out Polygon's World of Warplanes review to learn more about the game.
