Japanese role-playing game Final Fantasy 6 is out today on the iTunes App Store for $15.99, publisher Square Enix announced.

Originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, the game has been re-worked to run on iOS devices and includes touchscreen controls and a battle interface that that is appropriate for smartphones.

Game data saved with iCloud will be shared across devices, which will allow players to play the game on their iPhone or iPad.

Other titles in the Final Fantasy series that have made their way to iOS (and, in some cases, Android) years after their original launch include Final Fantasy 4: The After Years and Final Fantasy 5.
