Rentable servers for console versions of Battlefield 4 is "coming soon," according community manager "EA_Stive" on the Battlelog forums.
"Indeed, it is coming. I'm afraid we don't have any information on this quite yet, but it is coming soon," he said in response to a forums user's question if the ability to rent servers for Battlefield 4 is coming to the PlayStation 4. "Keep your eyes peeled on the Control Room and Battlefield blog, as those are most likely where you'll see it announced first."
Currently available for the Windows PC version of the game, renting servers lets admins dictate server settings such as private or public, map and mode rotations. Users can choose ranked or unranked servers. Unranked servers do not track player stats, unlike ranked servers, and are less expensive than the ranked option.
Players recently received another multiplayer feature where Platoons began rolling out to Battlefield 4 Premium subscribers late last month. The social feature allows groups of up to 100 players to communicate through private and public means and organize their gathering.
We have reached out to EA for further information about renting servers for consoles and specific platforms.
