Satellite Reign's first gameplay video shows a gun battle in a real-time world

Australia-based developer 5 Lives Studios has released the first gameplay video of Satellite Reign, the spiritual successor to the Syndicate series that was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year.

In Satellite Reign, players control a team of four battling it out in a "fully simulated, living, cyberpunk city," according to the game's official site. Indeed, bystanders and cars feature into the gunbattle above. Players have the option to approach a mission with brute force or stealth tactics. The soldiers they control are class-based, as also is apparent from the presence of the heavy weapons soldier in the video.

5 Lives' staff includes alumni from Syndicate Wars as well as L.A. Noire and the Grand Theft Auto and Darksiders series. The project was funded last summer; the game will be released for Windows and Linux PCs and Mac OS.
