Procedurally generated sci-fi game Proven Lands hits Kickstarter, Steam Greenlight

Proven Lands, thesetales' procedurally generated, sci-fi sandbox survival game, is currently collecting votes via Steam Greenlight and funds through Kickstarter.

Proven Lands draws inspiration from games and franchises such as Star Trek, Don't Starve, The Sims and Starbound. The five-episode game follows working class protagonist Teruo Nakamura, named for the Japanese Imperial Army soldier "who did not surrender until 1974, for an exciting reason." In addition to weather and day and night systems, Proven Lands will feature AI companions, mod capabilities, classes, crafting and more.

Proven Lands is seeking £299,000 by April 12 to launch the game for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac and Windows PC. If funded, the game will launch in Q1 of 2015 for Windows, while other releases will follow in Q2. Those interested in supporting the project can back in tiers of £1 to £4,999; rewards include a digital copy of the game, the soundtrack, downloadable content, alpha access and more.

For more on the game, check out the trailer below. A pre-alpha tech demo of Proven Lands is available through its Greenlight page.
