Galactic Civilizations 3 unveils gameplay, enters Steam Early Access March 27

The first gameplay footage of Galactic Civilizations 3 offers players a two minute playthrough of Stardock's turn-based 4X's alpha gameplay, which will enter Steam Early Access on March 27.

Stardock's Adam Biessener narrates the two-minute narrated video playthrough. According to the developer, the footage shown is of an earlier build than the one made available later this week for those in the Elite Founders club.

The third entry in Stardock's Galactic Civilizations series of 4X space strategy games is coming exclusively to 64-bit PCs. Galactic Civilizations 3 promises a haul of new features, including online multiplayer, a new diplomacy system for non-military paths to victory and improved visuals. Additional gameplay changes coming to Galactic Civilizations 3 include new space phenomena, such as black holes, and revamped ship builder.

Players who purchased the $39.99 Founder's Edition get early beta access to the game and $10 off the normal price. A $99.99 Founder's Elite Edition provides future expansions and downloadable content, alpha access and naming rights to an in-game star.
