ReRoll story trailer shows off a geographically accurate in-game Montreal

A recent trailer for ReRoll shows off a geographically accurate in-game representation of Montreal in the upcoming action role-playing game from developer Pixyul.

Downtown Montreal will be ReRoll's first playable region, known in the game as "Brick 1." The Canadian developer is working with the city and its geomatics department to recreate 12 square miles of Montreal.

"The game environment is an accurate representation of the city and features the heart of Montreal with iconic locations and landmarks," according to a press release from the developer. "The environment includes the old port, Mount-Royal, the city's downtown, the financial district, Chinatown, many parks and the old Montreal. The diversity of locations within the Ville-Marie district is perfect to start the development of the game. It offers many gameplay possibilities and is ideally situated to be a stepping stone for future locations and releases."

For more on the open-world game, which Ubisoft Montreal veterans Julien Cuny and Louis-Pierre Pharand are creating an by "drone-sourcing" the real world, be sure to read our interview with the developers. Press play above to learn about the story and see how "Brick 1" is taking shape.
