Versus Evil seeking new indie partners following The Banner Saga

A new publishing company focused on indies launched today, with ambitions to work with promising new developers.

Austin, Tex.-based Versus Evil has already released one game, Stoic's highly rated RPG The Banner Saga. According to an official company launch statement today, the new outfit has signed "a handful of other as yet unannounced game releases" and is planning new signings in the weeks ahead.

"Our mission is to make development teams independently successful by offering them our expertise in marketing, social media, community management, advertising, business development and distribution," said Versus Evil general manager, Steve Escalante, whose previous roles included a stint at Bethesda.

"We are not in this business to takeover a game's creative direction or vision," he added. "We are here to work with each studio in a very transparent, open relationship and focus on the business needs of the studio so the dev teams can concentrate on making the games they love."
