Renegade Kid's upcoming survival horror game, Cult County, won't "hold back in terms of mature content" co-founder Jools Watsham recently told Siliconera.
Originally slated for launch in mid-2014, Cult County was pushed back to prioritize other games. The first-person shooter will be released for Nintendo 3DS eShop in 2015. According to Watsham, the game will be "along the lines" of its handheld survival-horror game, Dementium, but with a stronger emphasis on story and characters.
"[Cult County] very much aims to disturb and scare the players," Watsham said.
Cult County is an ongoing project in Renegade Kid's growing catalog. The developer recently announced a free-style scooter game, Razor Global Domination Pro Tour, for PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One; several handheld titles are also in progress. After waiting five years to reclaim the rights for Moon, Renegade Kid is re-releasing it as a remastered, episodic edition, Moon Chronicles. Watsham previously revealed that Cult County was put on hold while the developer focused on Moon Chronicles.
An update to Mutant Mudds that adds bonus content from Mutant Mudds Deluxe is also in progress and planned for a March or April release. The developer announced a sequel for 2015.
Upcoming 2D platformer Treasurenauts is slated for launch on Nintendo 3DS in May.
